The Jestson's style camera phone is closer to mainstream reality than most people think. It's currently achieved in our lounge using a MacMini connected to a plasma screen on the wall and a Logitech webcam. This would be much easier though.
LG Electronics to Unveil Broadband HDTVs With Embedded Skype Capability - About Skype

LAS VEGAS, 5 January 2010 – LG Electronics and Skype today announced that LG’s 2010 HDTVs with NetCast Entertainment Access™ will feature embedded Skype™ software* allowing Skype users to make voice and high-definition video calls directly from their family room without a PC.

If there's a PIP (picture in picture) function so you can have the Skype call in one corner of the screen while you watch something else, now that would be sweet.
I earmarked this article a couple of weeks ago and have been inexcusably tardy in posting so apologies to the three of you (readers).

Picture this, Miglia TVMax or El Gato 250 box, ext HD and MacMini plugged into 40" plus plasma. Control the setup with a Logitech all-in-one remote and Logitech Dinovo Mini Keyboard and you can watch, record, time shift, push to iPod etc all off your TV. Now, add the QuickCam Pro and you can have video chat conversations with your mates at the same time, all from the comfort of you couch! Nice! Perfect for my 2 yo to chat to his grandparents (sitting in front of a computer does NOT work).
It may sound like I am a bit of a Logitech shill but I assure you this is not the case (I wish! I might get some freebies then!) I have just used a lot of their stuff and found it to be of sound quality and reliability. I have also been impressed by the cross platform support on most of their product line.
